A newly released video shows members of an al-Qaeda-affiliated insurgent group in Syria equipped with US-made weapons, Press TV reports.

The insurgents in uniform are reportedly based in the Jabal Turkmen mountains in northern Syria, along the Turkish border. They are shown carrying US M-16 rifles.

Another video also shows insurgents holding the Saudi flag in the eastern city of Deir al-Zour.

Damascus has repeatedly criticized the United States and its regional allies including Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey, over funding and arming insurgents fighting the government forces.

Syria has been experiencing unrest since March 2011. Damascus says the turmoil, which has killed many people, including large numbers of security forces, is being orchestrated from outside the country.

Russia urges united action against Israeli aggression
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov (file photo)
Moscow has called on the Arab League and the Middle East Quartet comprising Russia, the European Union (EU), UN, and US, to work together to end frequent Israeli aggressions against the Palestinians.

“The Quartet needs…to work together with the Arab League representatives and work out solutions together…to restart Israeli-Palestinian talks,” Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Friday.

Lavrov made the remarks after at least one Palestinian was killed and seven others were injured by Israeli fire in the southern Gaza Strip despite an Egypt-mediated ceasefire agreement between the two sides on Wednesday.

Over 160 Palestinians, including women and children, were killed and about 1,200 others were injured in the Israeli attacks on Gaza that were carried out during the eight-day period starting November 14.

In retaliation, the Palestinian resistance fighters fired rockets and missiles into Israeli cities, killing at least five Israelis.

The Russian minister had also on November 15 lashed out at the Middle East Quartet for its failure to establish peace in the region.

Israel frequently carries out airstrikes and other attacks on the Gaza Strip, saying the acts of aggression are being conducted for defensive purposes. However, in violation of international law, disproportionate force is always used and civilians are often killed and injured.

The attacks rage on while Israel keeps up its crippling blockade on Gaza, which it imposed on the enclave in 2007.

Internet hacktivist group Anonymous has declared cyberwar on Israel, posting personal data of five thousand Israeli officials online.

The group used their Anonpaste.me site to address a message to the Israeli government before linking to the page with names, ID numbers and personal emails of 5,000 officials.

The message said: “It has come to our attention that the Israeli government has ignored repeated warnings about the abuse of human rights, shutting down the internet in Israel and mistreating its own citizens and those of its neighboring countries.”

The group also said “Israeli Gov. this is/will turn into a cyberwar.”

Earlier, the group hacked over 700 hundred Israeli websites, including the Bank of Jerusalem, the Israeli Defence Ministry, the IDF blog, the President’s official website and many others.

Most of the sites remain down.

The country’s finance minister has acknowledged the recent wave of attacks, saying the government is now waging a war on a “second front.”

Over the past four days, Israel has “deflected 44 million cyber-attacks on government websites,” Israeli Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz told AP.

Pray For GAZA

Oh Allah!!!

Oh Allah,

be for them a guardian and helper

Our Lord,

strong are those who are near to you

Glorious is your praise And sanctified are your names

Oh Allah no one can abolish your command

And no one can defeat your army

Praise and glory to you

Oh Allah revealer of the book

Mover of the clouds,

Defeater of the armies

Crush them down and shatter them

Oh Allah show us in them signs of your might

Murderers of the messengers and prophets

Tyrants of the innocents

Oh Allah free the Muslims of Gaza,

Oh magnificent,

oh honored one,

Oh Allah loose their chains

Heal their sickness,

And uncover their torture,

Oh Allah replace their fear with safety

Oh magnificent,

oh honored one

Oh Allah strengthen Islam and the Muslimeen

Lower and shirk and Mushrikeen,

Destroy the enemies

of the religion,

And protect the territories of Islam

And unite the word of the Muslims in truth,

oh lord of the worlds,

Oh Allah saves the weak

and powerless of the Muslimeen everywhere.

Ameen

For Israel, Imperialism Isn’t Enough

What I am trying to say to you, my friends, comrades, brothers and sisters, is that what we are facing with Israel is a two-headed monster: it is both an imperialist monster, a colonialist monster; but it is also an exterminist state.

– Eqbal Ahmad, speaking on the occasion of Israel’s 1982 invasion of Lebanon

Things in Palestine have developed far beyond the point where any given “flare-up” in the constant violence that defines Israeli rule can be addressed in isolation. The significance of the ongoing Israeli assault on Gaza has absolutely nothing to do with the tired, dull hasbara talking points being peddled by Israeli diplomats – less still with their enterprising “twitter offensive.” But nor is it simply reflected in the destructive impact of this wave of Israeli state killings. As Eqbal Ahmad put it in a 1982 speech that today rings very true, “What matters is the goal, the actuality, of what the Israelis want.”

Israel, of course, has no monopoly on the politics of violent domination. But if, as the late Eric Hobsbawm wrote, “most historic empires have ruled indirectly, through native elites often operating native institutions,” in its rule over the Palestinians Israel does not easily fit into this imperial mainstream.1  As a result, the threat posed by Israeli politics involves dangers much more severe than external dominance and the suppression of genuine independence.

The false promise of conventional imperial rule in Palestine has gotten much public play in recent years. A decade ago, endorsing Israel’s renewed onslaught throughout the occupied territories, President Bush declared (June 2002) that what was needed was “a new and different Palestinian leadership so that a Palestinian state can be born”. A Palestinian “state”!

Of course, if this were the case, some obvious questions arose. Like, why not in the ’90s? The Palestinian Authority under Yasser Arafat had already been caught in a system of extreme financial dependence on Israel and its superpower sponsor, thanks in no small part to conditional funding from a willing Europe. As it rubbed shoulders with donors, the PA leadership had increasingly demobilized and sidelined the organized mass base of the Palestine Liberation Organization. And by decade’s end, it was clamoring to overcome Israeli objections to the increased involvement of CIA operatives and their close associates in PA affairs. ((See, for example, Karma Nabulsi, “The State-Building Project: What Went Wrong?”, in Michael Keating et al, eds., Aid, Diplomacy and Facts on the Ground: The Case of Palestine(London: Royal Institute of International Affairs, 2005); Anne Le More,International Assistance to the Palestinians after Oslo: Political Guilt, Wasted Money (New York: Routledge, 2008); and Jamil Hilal, “The Polarization of the Palestinian Political Field”, Journal of Palestine Studies (Vol. 24, No. 3, Spring 2010).))  If the objective was a viable client state, what was the problem?

Full Israeli re-invasion of this budding client state, the occupied West Bank and Gaza, thus raised some eyebrows. When Israel moved beyond prisons and bullets to deploy U.S.-supplied F16 fighter jets against the occupied Palestinian population (spring 2001) – the first deployment of warplanes within Palestine since 1967 – no less a dove than Dick Cheney publicly objected. Even after September 11 2001, it took some time for official Western acceptance of this escalation to sink in. With Binyamin Netanyahu, for example, declaring that 9/11 demonstrated the need to “destroy terrorist regimes, starting with the Palestinian Authority,” George W. Bush countered that “the world ought to applaud” Arafat for deploying PA security forces against “radical elements” (October 2001). To the end, CIA director George Tenet objected to the application of “regime change” politics against Arafat’s PA. 2

Yet there were limits to the Arafat leadership’s indulgence of foreign sponsors – limits to the diplomatic concessions it would make, limits to its willingness to deploy PA forces against Palestinians when they would all be attacked by Israeli military power, regardless. And the days of U.S. (and hence international Western) cooperation with Arafat were numbered.

Karma Nabulsi, speaking on a panel in Boston just after Israel’s 2008-9 assault on Gaza, recalls the ensuing transition to Bush’s “new and different Palestinian leadership”:

[In] 2005, Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) ran for the presidency of the Palestinian Authority – this was after the death of Arafat. And if you remember, Arafat had been under a two-and-a-half year siege in his headquarters in Ramallah for very much the same kind of issues that are facing Hamas today. Mahmoud Abbas was elected on a vast popular landslide. And his position was much different from Arafat’s. His position was that we are going to – as Fateh, as a political party, as a president who will lead the negotiations – we are going to entirely rely upon the goodwill of the Israeli government and of the U.S. administration in order to achieve our rights, in order to raise the issues that concern us, and in order to get a peaceful settlement. If any of you remember what happened during that year, Sharon was in power, and Mahmoud Abbas received absolutely nothing. And not only that, was humiliated, and treated with contempt, by the Israeli administration.

The election of a Hamas majority in the parliamentary votes of early 2006 occurred against this backdrop. The outcome, Nabulsi emphasizes, reflected not the bare popularity of Hamas, but the presence within its electoral platform of the consensual Palestinian positions (on prisoners, on refugees) that the Abbas presidency had set aside under the pressure of external threats and demands.

Under the pressure of a suffocating destabilization campaign jointly pursued by Israel, U.S.-allied donor states, and foreign security personnel, the politics of the occupied West Bank and Gaza were further fragmented in June 2007 – the elected Hamas government effectively confined to Gaza, control of the fragmented PA authority within the West Bank returned to those Palestinian leaders favoured by Israel and the West.

But even as those Palestinians resisting have been punished, the politics of compliance have themselves been allowed to develop only within the narrowest of cages.

To be sure, development of something like a genuine Western protectorate in parts of Palestine has had its prominent advocates. “I firmly believe,” explained the ranking U.S. military commander responsible for the Palestinian file in 2007, “that you make changes in this world the way the Romans did – by being on the ground, by getting your feet dirty in the mud and working with the people on the scene.” And partnered with a compliant West Bank administration, why not? After summer 2007 the influence in the West Bank of the 2006 election results had been nullified; or in other words (those of then Secretary of State Rice), “you now have in the Palestinian territories a democratic leadership.”5

Armed with the “Roman option,” the likes of Dayton thus pitched the politics of sustained imperial cooptation to Israeli officialdom. Compliant Palestinian security forces could be developed, brought into the orbit of U.S.-allied protectorate networks in the region, and clear the way for limited Israeli withdrawals that addressed Israel’s stated security concerns. “For the first time,” Dayton kvelled in 2009, “I think it’s fair to say that the Palestinian security forces feel they are on a winning team.”

This message, however, does not resonate all that strongly in predominant Israeli political circles. Leaders considering the Palestine question are much more inclined to play New England Puritans and Pequots than to merely dispatch imperial proconsuls.

When the Obama administration took over, neocolonial dictates were predictable and quick in coming. “The new U.S. Administration,” PA officials were told before Obama even assumed office, “expects to see the same Palestinian faces (Abu Mazen and Salaam Fayyad) if it is to continue funding the Palestinian Authority.”6 But a question remained: Might a middle path be developed between conventional imperialism and Israel’s settler colonial zeal? Might Israel be seriously pressed to reserve some stable fragments of Palestinian land, and some position of plausible diplomatic dignity, for some kind of Palestinian polity?

Until autumn 2010, it seemed possible. Since, the illusion has faded. Political manipulation by Western donor states continues – but fewer and fewer are taking development of a viable Palestinian protectorate seriously. The vaunted Palestinian-Israeli “bilateral track” stands exposed as the relationship between an occupied population and a pioneering military power intent on brutalizing and suppressing it (at best). And the U.S., true to form, stands vigilant in defense of the sanctity of this fine “bilateral process” against any who would interfere.

*****

So what of Gaza? What does it mean when Israel threatens, bombs, and kills to ensure its compliance? Its compliance with what?

Note that the territorial and demographic reality that is the Gaza Strip is itself, to begin, an ominous reflection of Israeli colonial strategy to date: “When transfer doesn’t work, concentration is tried.”

In 1948, the greater part of Palestine’s population was forcefully displaced beyond Israel’s pre-1967 sphere of control to clear the way for Israel’s anachronistic pioneering. A great number of the “transferred” ended up in the Gaza Strip. Their nearby existence quickly gave rise to an abiding Israeli wish: “If I believed in miracles,” declared David Ben-Gurion in an October 1956 Knesset speech, “I would pray that Gaza would be washed down into the sea.”7 After 1967, Gaza’s inhabitants not only remained above water but came under direct Israeli rule.

Several decades later, they surely aren’t taking up very much room. “Taken in isolation,” Darryl Li wrote in 2006, “the Gaza Strip is often described as one of the most densely populated places on earth: 1.4 million Palestinians crowded into 365 square kilometers. But in the broader Zionist calculus of minima and maxima, this fact can be redescribed as follows: some 25 percent of all Palestinians living under Israeli control have been confined to 1.4 percent of the territory of the British Mandate of Palestine.”

Still, they exist, they take part in Palestinian politics, they resist with all the means at their disposal. And Israeli officialdom continues to look wistfully at the water.

But how simultaneously to exclude and control these people while clearing safe space to pioneer? “It will be a difficult struggle,” explained Defense Minister Ehud Barak on Sunday. “Gaza’s residents are not about to jump into the sea”.8 Until the likes of Barak can be so lucky, however, they do see ways to proceed. Fabricating pretexts for aggression on the southern front is, after all, a vibrant tradition, as old as the state itself.

Hence Wednesday’s dramatic demonstration killing – an old-fashioned public political execution, carried out with the latest technology. It is worth quoting this Wednesday’s report by Aluf Benn, editor-in-chief of the Israeli daily Ha’aretz, at some length:

Israel demanded of Hamas that it observe the truce in the south and enforce it on the multiplicity of armed organizations in the Gaza Strip. The man responsible for carrying out this policy was Ahmed Jabari . . . Now Israel is saying that its subcontrator did not do his part and did not maintain the promised quiet on the southern border. The repeated complaint against him was that Hamas did not succeed in controlling the other organizations, even though it is not interested in escalation. After Jabari was warned openly …, he was executed on Wednesday in a public assassination action, for which Israel hastened to take responsibility. The message was simple and clear: You failed – you’re dead.

Now – the principal line of actual communication between Israel and Hamas having being violently severed in the most spectacular way possible – hundreds of air strikes on Gaza form the backdrop to Israeli explanations that it will need to move in hard with ground forces if complete quiet in the south is not immediately forthcoming. During last year’s spring wave of aerial killings in Gaza, Israeli cabinet minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch declared that there “is no immunity for anyone in Gaza”. Until Israeli wishes are fulfilled, the state reserves the right to kill at a pace of its choosing.

*****

Not long after giving the speech cited at the outset of this article, Eqbal Ahmad wrote that “the PLO has been saddled with a heavier burden than any other liberation movement in contemporary history except one” (that of the Vietnamese after the Korean war). ((Eqbal Ahmad, “Pioneering in the Nuclear Age: An Essay on Israel and the Palestinians,” in Carollee Bengelsdorf et al, eds., The Selected Writings of Eqbal Ahmad (New York: Columbia University Press, 2006), p. 302.))  How this challenge still facing Palestinians can be met by those facing ruthless exclusion on the one hand and, on the other, a proudly declared “continuum of assassinations” ((Amos Harel, “Will bin Laden killing pave way for similar moves by Israel?,” Ha’aretz (May 4 2011). )) executed with overwhelming military force, is well beyond me. It is also, I hasten to add, very much beyond most people who often speak to it from the West with undue confidence. The very resilience of Palestinian challenges, locally and around the world, is in any event extremely impressive.

But the issue here is absolutely not Palestinian conduct in the south. And to consider the ongoing attacks on Gaza as part of a disproportionate back-and-forth is to miss the point. These killings, which are startling far beyond their body count, must instead be taken as confirmation of the grievous threat posed by the Israeli political system and its current place in the region’s politics – irrespective of how this particular surge in violence develops. Recall that as Palestinians face mass imprisonment and aerial political killings, there also remain on the record the threats, issued via quasi-official Israeli documents, to reduce the main population centres across the Middle East to “vapour and ash” should any state in the region pose too serious a challenge.

http://www.notesonhypocrisy.com/node/41

Perhaps Israeli killings will continue to rage with impunity, checked only by the armed responses others in the region can muster. But this may well be catastrophic for everyone concerned. Those of us observing these developments from the West, and identifying with the kind of politics that avoid bloodshed, should take very seriously the question of what forms of political deterrence can be developed to check this threat.

Is A Jewish Life Worth More Than A Non-Jewish Life?

When I hear the outrage expressed by American politicians and American people at the deaths of Israelis killed by “terrorists” it makes my stomach sick. The gross imbalance of justice displayed by these people in not showing the same or greater outrage for the lives of Palestinians ruthlessly killed by a brutal Israeli regime makes me believe that in the minds of Americans the Palestinians are “like cockroaches.” Or they have been made so callous and Israeli sensitive that the following statement made by Rabbi Yaacov Perrin is considered to be revelatory truth from God Himself:

“One million Arabs are not worth a Jewish fingernail.” (NY Daily News, Feb. 28, 1994, p.6).

Rachel Corrie (non-Jew murdered with a bulldozer by Israelis). Daniel Perle (Jew killed in Pakistan). Perle’s death is mourned and he is treated like a hero while Corrie’s death is not known by many Americans and treated as if it was her fault.

The position taken by the media to treat Palestinians using violence as criminals and the Israelis actions as “retaliation” is one of the greatest psychological tricks that the Jews have played on the Western mind. The focus and detailed presentation by the media of the harm done to Israelis by “terrorists” is excessive and used as a ploy to justify the Occupier’s further travesties against the Palestinian people. To me this is an insult to the intelligence of the American people and it is working from the point of view that Americans are ignorant of the history that took place in Palestine.

Another great psychological trick is how the media use the word “terrorist”. In this essay I deliberately write the word “terrorists” in quotes because I don’t buy the Jewish mainstream media definition. Their original definition of “terrorist” was any Muslim who fights back against Israeli aggression and now it has grown to include any legitimate resistance to American aggression. The Israelis even go further by having their Mossad and American dupes perform false flag operations to blame Muslims for terrorist acts committed by them so that their lying media can splash this information to solidify the “terrorist” lie in the minds of Americans. But the true terrorists in this world are the Israelis and the Americans.

Can you imagine the terror the Americans have brought to the hearts of the Iraqis and Afghans with their superior weapons which already murdered more than 2 million civilians? Can you imagine the terror that the innocents in these countries feel knowing that at any time they could be murdered, raped, tortured and humiliated with no recourse to turn to for help to alleviate crimes done against them or their suffering? Can you imagine the terror the Palestinians feel as a result of the Amalek collective genocide mentality of the Israelis where at any moment Palestinian houses could be demolished, children snatched, whole population cut off from basic necessities such as water, electricity, etc, killed in cold blood with sophisticated American made weapons, brutalized and tortured with the world and their Arab brothers looking on with none lifting a finger to relieve them of their misery? The nasty war on terror fought by the Americans and the Israelis is a war on civilians, defenseless children, innocent babes and the infrastructures these people need to survive. If Americans want to know what real terror is they should trade places with the suffering Iraqis, Palestinians, Afghans, Pakistanis,  and other victims of Israeli, American and Western genocide.

Even though the rule the British had over the colonies in American history was in no way as horrible as the rule of the Israelis over the Palestinians, every American feels that George Washington and all the Patriots who fought to free America from British rule were heroes. To be fair, this is how the Americans should see the Palestinians. But they are blinded by a media that does not present the full story. The strength of support for Israel in America is based on keeping Americans ignorant of the true situation in Palestine. Once that ignorance is lifted the support for Israel will disappear. That is why everything Americans see, hear and smell about the Middle East is tightly controlled. But thank God for the Internet. They have not gained control of it as yet.

If you stabbed me and in return I stepped on your toe and then in return you kill me, my family and blow up my house. Who would be more in the wrong? Naturally it would be you because you provoked the violence by stabbing me and then used excessive force. If the world overlooks what you have done to me and only condemns me for stepping on your toe, then wouldn’t that be a travesty of justice and warped sense of judgment? That is exactly what the Israelis want and that is exactly what the Americans are doing with just their condemnation of “Palestinian terrorists”. The racist and fascist Israeli supremacists believe that their lives is all that is important. They have succeeded in getting the Americans to pay minor lip service to the massacres committed against the Palestinians and put an inordinate amount of focus on so-called “terrorism”. 500, 1000, 10,000 or more Palestinians lives are nothing. In my example above, the theft of Palestinian lands, destruction of more than 400 villages, horrors of the occupation, humiliation of the Palestinians and outright murder of those people is the stab. In comparison to the damage done by the Israelis to the Palestinians, “terrorist” acts done by Palestinians are like the stepping on the toe. The Israeli collective genocide, destruction of the Palestinian infrastructure, cutting off of water and electricity, deliberate starvation and the outright murder at will of Palestinians is the killing and blowing away. Yet there is no condemnation of the horrendous, barbarous actions of the Israelis by Americans.  Palestinians should continue to proudly take whatever actions needed to free themselves. If the Israelis had not stabbed first then there would be no stepping on their toes. God’s laws will always prevail. For every action there is a reaction. As Jesus (pbuh) has said “As a man soweth, that shall he reap.” If the Israelis feel that they can escape these universal laws then they should go live in another world.

The media likes to address the idea of peace between the Palestinians and Israelis as if they are equals. That is not true. One is subjugated with very limited freedom and the other is dominating with total freedom. One has invaded another’s house and is occupying his bedrooms, living rooms, kitchen and bathrooms by force and the other lives in the outhouse totally surrounded by gangs and hoodlums who torture him and limit his freedom. But despite that, the Palestinians still have an unbreakable spirit to be free and to get their houses back. They are willing to die for this. Until the bully is totally kicked out of the house there can be no peace. The big formula that America and the Israelis are missing is that there can be no peace without justice. No peace without justice.

Israelis have been kidnapping, imprisoning and torturing thousands of Palestinians for years but when Palestinians capture one of their soldiers sent to kill them it is a major act of “terrorism” — worthy of collective genocide of all the Palestinians in Gaza. Yes the American media has played on this stepping on the toe of the “chosen ones” so much that even ignorant Muslims are calling for his release. At the same time the major genocide done against thousands of Palestinians including babies, innocent children and defenseless adults is ignored. Is a Jewish life worth more than a non-Jewish life?

At the same time we have the cowardly, disgraceful and disgusting example of Arab leadership. One of the three things that the Prophet of Islam feared for his followers the most after his death was the oppression of their leaders. He couldn’t be more correct than the time that we are living in. The leadership of countries like Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan and others has joined the Goyim dupes’ choir in blaming the victims of Israeli aggression rather than girding up their loins and joining Hezbollah in their righteous fight against the Israeli brutes. Rather than taking the Islamic position of standing up for justice and telling the Israelis, “I am sorry sirs I will not condemn Hezbollah or Hamas. But this is what I want you to do. Find and arrest every Israeli soldier and settler guilty of committing crimes against the Palestinians. Find the murderers, plunderers and thieves amongst your people. Punish them and condemn their actions. In the meantime I will reward our freedom fighters for killing a few of our enemies after you had killed so many of theirs!” The Americans stood up in the UN and all over the world defending the indefensible acts of the criminal Israelis while at the same time the butt kissing, Islamicly lost Arab leadership blamed Hezbollah for the Israelis cruel actions against Lebanon and did not lift a finger to help the Lebanese people. May Allah’s curse forever be on those cowardly bastards!!!

If Arab leadership or any Palestinian still believes that the Zionists want peace after so many lies, subterfuges and broken promises, then they deserve the hell that they are experiencing. They need to wake up and understand that the Zionists are not sincere. I am sure that Hamas and the common innocent Palestinian understand that. I am not so sure Arab leaders do. To hell with anymore hypocritical, one-sided and Israeli patronizing American plans. Palestinians should say in their words and actions like the brave American pioneer Patrick Henry, “Give me liberty or give me death!” Either they will get it or die trying. That is nobler indeed than the peace chasing hell that some of their dumb leaders were trying to obtain from insincere Israelis and their number one supporter the US.

Israel has rarely apologized for their crimes against Palestinians or taken actions to arrest the criminals. The most they have called their wrong actions is a mistake. They have even rewarded their criminals and have made some of their most vicious ones Prime Ministers. We should ask why? Are non-Jew (goyim) lives worth less than Israeli lives? According to the Talmud, Kabala and other Jewish religious scripture the answer is a resounding YES!!!

After all aren’t they God’s Chosen people that millions of Christians are all too ready to defend. Odd people aren’t these Christians. They have been bamboozled and bemused to believe that another people other than themselves, are more preferred by God above all others in creation. While at the same time the Christian’s Savior referred to these same Jews in the Bible as children of the devil, vipers, liars, hypocrites, serpents and their places of worship as Synagogues of Satan. Now who are these Christians Zionists exalting Israel really following?

The idea of a Jewish life being superior to a non-Jewish one is ingrained in the religious scripture followed by Jews. This is not Antisemitism this is revealing truth that I will back up with statements from their Talmud and Kabala that may shock many who never saw them before. It should be obvious to most in the West that the Jews are referred to as God’s Chosen people in the Old Testament. That alone should let us know that they think of themselves as special. But most Christians have never examined the Jewish Talmud or the Kabala to see what further things besides being chosen by God are in those scriptures as well. Most shocking is what is said about non-Jews in those books. I will quote below starting with the Kabala with links to authentic Jewish sources that anyone can verify and even read further about as evidence to substantiate my claims. Maybe then we will get some understanding as to why the Israelis have such a high disdain and disrespect for non-Jewish life:

From Kabalistic Philosophy

http://www.amazon.com/Demystifying-Mystical-Understanding-Chasidism-Mysticism/dp/1568214537

From the book “Demystifying the Mystical”, 1995

Chassidus explains that there are three souls: (1) Nefesh ha’bihamis, the animal soul, also called Nefesh ha’chiunis, the vital soul or natural soul; (2) Nefesh ha’sichlis, the human rational soul; and (3) Nefesh ha’elokis, the Godly soul. The third aspect of the soul is unique to Jews; Gentiles have both an animal soul and a human rational soul.

The part of the Jew that wants to be Godly and Jewish, the Nefesh ha’elokis, is pre set and “forced” to act in a Jewish way.

To understand this in a deeper way we need to ask ourselves several questions. What is the significance of the Nefesh elokis being a “Chelek eloka mimal mamesh”, an actual part of God? Also, do righteous gentiles posses a Nefesh elokis? If not, why not? Just because they aren’t born to a Jewish mother or have had a proper Jewish conversion, shouldn’t exclude them from attaining the same union as Jews have. Also, what is the highest spiritual level a gentile can reach?

Chassidus explains that the Nefesh elokis is actually part and parcel of God. It manifests itself by the very fact that a Jew cannot and will not be able to forsake his or her Jewishness. Regardless of circumstances, every Jew posses a Godly soul, even though temporarily the Jew might drift into strange non Godly pastures.

Based on this ideology, we will be able to understand the spirituality of a gentile. A gentile is not a Jew. The very fact that a gentile is born to a non Jewish mother establishes this fact. This in no way denotes a inferiority rather a different role in fulfilling his mission in life. Therefore even a very righteous gentile doesn’t have a Jewish soul known as a Godly soul, a Neshomo.

From the Talmud

http://www.come-and-hear.com/talmud/index.html

“Even though God created the non-Jew they are still animals in human form. It is not becoming for a Jew to be served by an animal. Therefore he will be served by animals in human form.” Midrasch Talpioth, p. 255, Warsaw 1855.

Maimonides, Mishneh Torah, Hilchot Rotze’ach 2:11: “A Jew who killed a righteous gentile is not executed in a court of law. It says in Exodus 21:14, ‘If a man schemes against his fellow man and kills the man deliberately, take him away from the altar and put him to death.’ But a gentile is not considered a man, and even more so, a Jew is not executed for killing an unrighteous gentile.”

In the book “Orot,” Orot Yisrael chapter 5, article 10 (page 156), Rabbi Kook wrote: “The difference between the Jewish soul, in all its independence, inner desires, longings, character and standing, and the soul of all the Gentiles, on all of their levels, is greater and deeper than the difference between the soul of a man and the soul of an animal, for the difference in the latter case is one of quantity, while the difference in the first case is one of essential quality.”¶— Rabbi Bar-Chayim, quoting Rabbi Kook

Hebrew University Professor Mordechai Nisan, basing his exposition on Maimonides, stated that a non-Jew permitted to reside in a land ruled by Jewish law “must accept paying a tax and suffering the humiliation of servitude. If Gentiles refuse to live a life of inferiority, then this signals their rebellion and the unavoidable necessity of Jewish warfare against their very presence.”

According to Israel Shahak, who was a professor of Chemistry at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and founder of the League for Human and Civil Rights in Israel, the cause of the Israeli Defense Forces brutal treatment of the Palestinians is due to the ugly misinterpretation and misapplication of the teachings of the Talmud. He writes in his book “Jewish History, Jewish Religion”:

“A book published by the Central Region Command of the Israeli army, whose area includes the West Bank, contains the following declaration by the command’s chief chaplain: “When our forces come across civilians during a war or in hot pursuit or in a raid, so long as there is no certainty that those civilians are incapable of harming our forces, then according to Halakah [Jewish law] they may and even should be killed.” “Under no circumstances should an Arab be trusted, even if he makes an impression of being civilized. In war, when our forces storm the enemy, they are allowed and even enjoined by the Halakah to kill even good civilians.”

Teachings like the above are what is being used to train the Israeli Defense Forces today. We should not be surprised by their actions.

Israel tops the list of the world’s most militarized nations, according to the latest Global Militarisation Index released Tuesday by the Bonn International Centre for Conversion (BICC).

At number 34, Israel’s main regional rival, Iran, is far behind. Indeed, every other Near Eastern country, with the exceptions of Yemen (37) and Qatar (43), is more heavily militarized than the Islamic Republic, according to the Index, whose research is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Co-operation and Development.

Singapore ranks second, followed by Syria, Russia, Jordan, and Cyprus, according to the Index, which is based on a number of weighted variables, such as the comparison of a country’s military budget with its gross domestic product (GDP), and the percentage of the GDP it spends on health care.

Six of the top 10 states, including Israel (1), Syria (4), Jordan (5), Kuwait (7), Bahrain (9), and Saudi Arabia (10) are located in the Middle East, while yet another of Iran’s neighbours, Azerbaijan, made its first entry into the militarized elite at number 8.

The former Soviet Caucasian state has used its vast oil wealth, which has placed it among the fastest growing economies in the world, to buy expensive weapons systems in recent years, apparently as leverage to press Armenia (23) into returning the disputed Nagorno-Kharabovsk enclave which Baku lost in a brief but bloody war after the Soviet Union’s collapse.

Bahrain’s placement in the top 10 was also a first for the Sunni-dominated kingdom which has been backed by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in an increasingly violent effort to suppress demands by the Shi’ite majority for democratic reform.

While the Middle East is far more militarised than any other region – all of its countries rank within the top 40 – Southeast Asia, led by Singapore, appears ascendant, according to Jan Grebe, the Index’s head researcher who directs BICC’s work in the field of arms export control.

In addition to Singapore, China (82) and India (71) are increasing their defence budgets at a relatively rapid rate, while the recent flaring of territorial conflicts between Beijing and its neighbours across the South and East China Seas will likely amplify voices within those countries for defence build-ups.

“It remains to be seen how this development will affect the degree of militarization of individual states and the entire region,” Grebe said.

In contrast, both sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America are relatively low on the Index, which covers statistics for 2011 and ranked 135 countries altogether.

At number 30, Angola was a notable African exception, while Chile (31), Ecuador (36), and Colombia (38) topped the Latin American list. By contrast, Brazil, which has by far the largest defence budget in the region, ranked 76.

Among those excluded from the Index was North Korea, whose defense budget has proved impervious to independent analysts and which is widely thought to be one of the world’s most militarized states, if not the most. Eritrea, another state that has made it into the top 10 in the past, also was not included this year.

Created in 1996, the GMI, which has been updated each year, tries to assess the balance between militarization and human development, particularly related to health.

In addition to BICC’s own research, data published by the Stockholm Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Health Organisation (WHO), and the Institute for Strategic Studies are used to compile the Index, whose rankings go back to 1990 at the end of the Cold War.

In addition to the comparison of military budgets, GDP, and health expenditures, the Index uses several other variables, including the total personnel in the paramilitary and military forces – albeit not the police – and total number of physicians vis-à-vis the overall population, and the ratio of the number of heavy weapons to the total population.

Each variable is given a certain score which is then “weighted” according to a set formula to determine a total quantitative score. The more militarized a country, the higher the score. South Korea which, for many years, ranked in the top 10, fell to 18 this year.

Eritrea, which fought a bitter war with Ethiopia and repeatedly cracked down hard against internal dissent, gained a “perfect” 1,000 score in 2004, the first of a three-year reign atop the list.

But Israel, which has carried out a 45-year occupation of Palestinian lands and Syrian territory, has topped the list for almost all of the last 20 years. On the latest Index, its score came to 877, 70 points ahead of Singapore, which has been number two for every year this century, except for the three in which Eritrea was number one.

Significantly, Greece ranked 14 on the list, the highest of any NATO country, far ahead of its regional rival, Turkey, which took the 24th slot, and Bulgaria (25).

The two countries with the world’s largest defense budgets, the United States and China, ranked 29 (591) and 82 (414), respectively.

In addition to the six Middle Eastern states in the top, Oman (11), the UAE (13), Lebanon (17), Iraq (26), and Egypt (28) were all found to be more militarized than Iran, which is currently subject to unprecedented economic sanctions imposed primarily by the West which accuses it of pursuing a nuclear program that may have military applications.

The concentration of so many Middle Eastern states at the top underscores the degree to which the region has become a powder keg.

If the Middle East dominates the top ranks, sub-Saharan African states, with just a few exceptions, lie at the low end of scale. The region’s biggest economy, South Africa, ranks 98, while its most populous nation, Nigeria, stands at 117.

Too little militarization carries its own risks, according to Grebe, because states may not be able to guarantee order or even territorial integrity.

“This situation points to the seemingly paradoxical phenomenon that some state security apparatuses are incapable of preventing violence and conflict simply because the country concerned shows a degree of militarization which is too low,” he said.
