| TEHRAN, May 28 (MNA) – Despite the fact that Saudi Arabia is among world’s wealthiest countries; poverty is an undeniable phenomenon in Saudi society. | |
| While Saudi Arabia has wealthiest families, reports show 20 per cent of the population are under poverty line. Few hundred yards beyond the luxurious shopping malls and recreation centers of Riyadh, the beggars are searching for food, and a few miles farther, residents in slum houses in poor neighborhoods of southern Riyadh grapple with poverty to live.
Although Saudi government admits that poverty was a giant to fight with, the realities of the kingdom and problems face poor Saudi citizens had gone unnoticed by many. Exploring these terrains has proved difficult for foreign reporters, and that would be impossible except for the influence of famous individuals, who threaten their lives by walking on the same terrain.
Saudi Arabian government well knows the plights of the poor, but it has done little in providing help to assuage the effect of poverty. Much of the helps provided have been by third party private charity organizations.
Meanwhile, Saudi princes such as Walid bin Talal, one of the wealthiest and greatest investors, live a life of luxury.

Your Mother carried you inside of her womb for nine whole months, she felt sick for months with nausea, then she watched her feet swell and her skin stretch and tear.
She struggled to climb stairs, she got breathless quickly and even a simple task like putting her shoes on was a huge struggle for her. She suffered many sleepless nights while you kicked and squirmed inside of her and while you demanded that she scoffed junk at 3am, she then went through EXCRUCIATING PAIN to bring you into this world.
She became your nurse, your chef, your maid, your chauffeur, your biggest fan, your teacher, your agony aunt and your best friend. She’s struggled for you, cried over you, fought for you, put herself second for you, hoped the best for you and has driven herself insane with worry for you but never has she asked for anything in return because she loves you and did it all on love alone!
Most of us take our Mums for granted but there are people who have lost or have never even seen theirs. If you have a loving Mother who did all of this for you, you are very lucky, never devalue her worth because one day, you’ll wish you hadn’t!
To every women who is a mother, and to every other women who is going to be one day, A very very Happy Women’s Day

The US Army is funding the development of a hormone nasal spray that they hope may ease depression and lift suicidal thoughts. Indiana University medical researcher Dr. Michael Kubek co-discovered a hormone, called TRH, that has anti-depressant properties but isn’t effective when ingested or injected. With the army funding, Kubek hopes to create a TRH nasal spray sothe hormone can cross the blood-brain barrier. “Today’s commonly used anti-depressants can take weeks to have an effect and carry a black box warning label for suicidal ideation in young adults,” Kubek said. “That is why we hope to develop a quick-acting, easy-to-use, non-invasive system that delivers a compound that’s been shown to reduce suicidal thoughts.” “Can nasal spray help prevent military suicides?”

In 1994 on Purim, Goldstein stormed a mosque and fired on praying Muslims in the West Bank city’s Tomb of the Patriarchs – a shrine sacred to both Muslims and Jews.
Twenty-nine people died in the attack, and the angry crowd lynched Goldstein in retaliation.
Israeli extremists continue to pay homage at his grave in the nearby Jewish settlement of Kiryat Arba, where a marble plaque reads: “To the holy Baruch Goldstein, who gave his life for the Jewish people, the Torah and the nation of Israel.”
About 10,000 people had visited the grave since the massacre, Mr Marzel said.
