My Heart, My Traveler
My heart, my fellow traveler
It has been decreed again
That you and I be exiled,
go calling out in every street,
turn to every town.
To search for a clue
of a messenger from our Beloved.
To ask every stranger
the way back to our home.
In this town of unfamiliar folk
we drudge the day into the night
Talk to this stranger at times,
to that one at others.
How can I convey to you, my friend
how horrible is a night of lonliness *
It would suffice to me
if there were just some count
I would gladly welcome death
if it were to come but once.
Faiz Ahmed Faiz

Seeking the way back home is a most worthy endeavor, Zahir! This thought is ringing within me as I review your photograph and your words here! Bless you many times over. May peace go before every footstep of yours as you travel with your heart towards Home!
thanks sis i am glad you enjoyed it.
As we say back home if you come in peace then my home is your home, but if you come for war, please take rest and gain energy and we will battle on sunrise.
Czasami jesteś emigrantem w swoim własnym kraju….the beatiful….
Thank you Krystina
This is so beautiful , the feeling of loneliness, of being a stranger among strangers is one we all know. Also the the idea of loneliness at night being akin to to death is one I understand well, the line ‘It would suffice to me if there were just some count
I would gladly welcome death if it were to come but once.’ That is just exactly how the lonely feel. Thank you for a beautiful poem. xx
thnak you for stopping willw i am glad you enjoy the post…:)
